ALTERED - Finally completed and ready to screen at a Festival near you
Altered is the disturbing new thriller horror movie from award winning film director Kely McClung. Starring Robert Pralgo (Vampire Diaries, Fast and Furious 7) and Amanda Dreschler (Lost Angels, Perception), Keith Brooks (The Walking Dead).
Synopsis of the film, courtesy of http://thealteredmovie.com/.
SARAH - 26 - a beautiful young woman living on the streets - leads us through the seedier parts of Chicago and introduces us to a strange cast of characters. She follows a handsome PRIEST into a dark hotel; the kind of place we would never willingly enter on our own. The Priest kills a waiting prostitute and attacks Sarah, but she is saved by LOGAN, a mysterious man who never speaks.
As we return to the streets, we enter a fractured storyline with an expanding cast of characters. Sarah is convinced she can change reality, desperately wanting to rewind the day to before her childhood friend’s tragic accident.
In each of three acts, Sarah ends up in the room just as the killer dismembers his victim, and in each act we see Logan shot and killed on the streets. Sarah goes from being a drug addict and being brutally raped, to supplying drugs and pumping the prostitute for information. When she kills a gang leader who opens fire on her, we discover she’s an undercover narcotics officer. With Logan leading the task force, Sarah is invited to join in the hunt for the killer.
Sarah makes her way to the hotel for the final time where Sarah, Logan, and the Priest converge. As the action explodes around us, we simultaneously find answers and new ways to look at everything that’s come before. Like our changing perceptions, Sarah finally realizes her thoughts and ideas do shape her world, but she’s not God; that no matter how she tries, “Good Never Fades and Evil Never Dies.”
Director’s Statement
The great thing about independent film today is there is no reason or excuse to limit yourself in terms of acting, production values, or story content.
Making any movie is a monumental task, but I can think of nothing more exciting than battling the odds with friends and family to create something meaningful. Time and the audience will judge our efforts, but the struggle and the joy of the work has truly transformed and ‘altered’ my own life and work, and I hope, for many of those who've given me their trust on this long journey.
The ideas and concepts of “Altered” began 10 years ago at a time when I knew I had none of the money, skills, or the experience to attempt it. Like any director, I see the flaws as much as the successes, and of course, there are seemingly endless compromises along the way, but the movie we’ve created delivers the feel and the heart of what we were striving for.
“Change Your Perception and You Change the World.” I know my own world has changed many times already, and I’m ready to see where it takes me and what comes next! - Kely McClung
Here is the Newest thriller/horror teaser trailer
for Altered - the brutal, twisted new indie movie from Kely McClung - coming
soon in 2015.

FIRST ANNUAL INDIE COYOTE BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Indie Fest USA International Film and Music Festival of Garden Grove added a fun and exciting event to the lineup of Great Independent Films in 2014. The Festival has always made music a part of their entertainment lineup for the Filmmakers and Public attendees, but decided to up the ante this year.
The organizers thought about what could add value to the Festival, and give the added umph to give the Bands and Artists a goal to make their performance the best that it could possibly be. It also gave them the incentive to promote their performance as the winners were chosen by Audience Choice.
As the Festival did with the Judging panel for the Film Awards, they had an expert put together a panel that watched the performances of all of the Bands not only at the Festival, but at performances prior to the Festivals start.
The Judging criteria are:

The Judging criteria are:
- Following - are they personable enough that they have created a following.
- Audience Interaction - how well do they work the audience, do they get them involved, do they interact between numbers, do they tell the stories that made the songs.
- Performance - do they have a show or do they just get on stage and sing and play
- Cohesiveness - do they work together, do they have fun with each other on stage
- And of course How good are they
This years winners were:

Cosplay comes to Indie Fest USA International Film Festival
These
performance artists spend allot of time, energy and money perfecting their
character and costumes. Indie Fest USA and the GGCAS welcome these
artists and we will have daily Cosplay interaction and our own special contest
with awards to be presented on closing night at the awards show.
WHAT IS COSPLAY:
There are many misunderstandings on
cosplay. Even on Wikipedia there is some incomplete and wrong information on
the subject. So lets start with what cosplay really is. Cosplay is
derived from Costume Play. Literally this is nothing more than dressing up and
play. Unlike what some claim, you can cosplay any character you like and not
just a Japanese anime or manga character.
No, cosplay is more general. Any character can be an inspiration. If you
love fantasy, you can dress up as an elf or an orc. Do you like a certain time
in history or do you admire an historical figure, do not mind to look up the
clothing and costumes of the era and play it.
It does not
matter if you want to be a Gothic vampire, a Lord of the Rings character or a
robot, since it is all cosplay. Some play one character and stick to that. Some
use different costumes according to the occasion. But all do spend a lot of
time and/or money to have the finest, most authentic costume possible.
Of course,
those who love manga and anime more likely dress up as an anime or manga
character.
So all is
possible and on most Renaissance Fairs and Science Fiction Conventions, a lot
is allowed. Yes, there might be restrictions. Some Fairs only allow historic or
fantasy subjects and are not into Sci-Fi. An Example is the Dutch Castlefest:
on this occasion dressing up as a Jedi from Star Wars might be not be
recommended, but on Elf Fantasy Faire, you see fairies and Storm Troopers
escorting princess Leia together.
Of course
you will also have specific anime conventions, for those who only dress up
anime and still think cosplay is exclusive for them.
Some Conventions might also be more into
Science Fiction and many participants might be dressed up as characters from
Sci-Fi series or movies.
Another
kind of cosplay, is LARP, or Live Action Role Play. This is a role play like
Dungeons and Dragons, in which you do not play with your characters on a board,
but you dress up like the characters and play them yourself, so you are not
just playing the game, but you are in the game.
So it is a
myth that cosplay can only be done with anime and manga characters. Fact is
cosplay can be any type of dress-up event. Sending your kids out to trick and
treat on Halloween can already be a form of cosplay.
Kids do in
naturally by dressing up to play a princess, a cow boy or an Indian. If you
ever did that, you already cosplayed. But some people do not grow out of it and
there is no maximum age to attend events that allow cosplay.
So it is
not only a hobby, but for many also a way of life. You save and work up to that
one specific event, this one moment you can be whoever or whatever you like to
be.
Many spend long hours or lots of money to make or buy the best possible
costume for their character on the event. And when it is over, you dream of the
next one.
