GET CONNECTED

Actor Spotlight Program
Actor Spotlight: “We have amazing talent and we want to highlight our rising stars out to the Get Connected network and beyond! Once the link gets approved and goes live make sure to like the link using the embedded social media feature and spread the word so that Google ranks it high for you!

Welcome to Script2Screen!
Get Connected newest installment is meant to attract marketable screenplays with local talent to be showcased at the event in order attract funding and highlight local talent.
We discover projects and then work with the screenwriters and/or filmmakers behind them in developing these presentations. Selected scenes are chosen by the creator and each project is given 15-20 minutes to stage their scenes and present/ pitch their project. Each project will be introduced by a moderator where the writer and the actors are introduced, and the title, the genre, logline and projected budget are presented. The live performances are to give the audience a taste of the overall film. Stage sets and elaborate props are NOT allowed as this is ALL about the story, the character and the idea of the film. Some creators opt to have their actors read from scripts while other prefer to have their actors be off book. That is up to you. We are looking for strong performances and chosen scenes that offer the audience a strong sense of the overall project.
Our Goals Behind this installment at Get Connected:
·         Showcase screenwriters to our industry audience
·         Showcase local talent to the other filmmakers in the room
·         Work in helping the project attract potential funding
Screenwriters selected will be allowed one free pass into the event and Actors receive a half-off discount.
FAQ’s:
What can I expect from this?
Your expectations are up to you. If you have an unproduced script, actors willing to work hard, and make time to market and showcase your project the best it can expect to have a good response and to use this experience to help you take the next step. Do good work.
What kinds of projects are you looking for?
All kinds
Will there be investors there?
We hope so but NEVER make any promises. At the very least this process will help you see your project come to life. We try our best to attract investors to the event or those that can support the creation of the process. Think of this as a mini live kickstarter experience. We like to think each project will attract someone who can help support a project financially.
Our movie has a ton of action and we want to use large props.
This is more about the characters and the performances. No large props only handheld items. You are given a stage and lights. If you film has all action this experience might not be best for you, however action can be creatively done in this way.
Do I get a booth as well when we stage our project?
No, a vendor booth is a great compliment to your presentation however. Booths are $100.
Do me and my actors get to come in for free?
No. All participants get half off the normal admission fee of $10. We provide the venue, the stage, the lighting, structure and help you with branding. We work with to help market, develop and expose your project to our fan base. You and your team are also there to enjoy the free food, the other projects presenting, and the film screenings in the theater, the expert panels, and vendor tables and of course the networking.  Also we are trying to keep it so there is no extra fee associated with this level of showcase. When you fill out the form please tell us who you anticipate will be on your list.
No one came to my presentation.
This is the last thing we want to see happen. We work with you to market your project but can’t promise the crowd will come. The best experiences have come from those who work with us in marketing. The best thing you can do is create a compelling RSVP, work to get project confidence; invite people you feel might invest, invite supporters, work with and support other groups.
Please email brent@blankstageproductions.com to start a request. Your project will be reviewed and if accepted you will be directed back here to fill out the submission form.
